WHY I LOVE THE OCEAN:

I am born and raised in Florida and have spent my life around the water. I absolutely love the freedom, weightlessness, and otherworldly views of diving. It is so incredible to see the diverse and colorful marine life, but also just to be able to visit a world so foreign than what we are used to. I try to use my passion to teach others about aquatic wildlife in the hopes they will learn to love and appreciate them too, and ultimately help protect these fragile ecosystems.

HOW I STARTED FREEDIVING AND SCUBA DIVING:

Before I could swim on my own, my dad would take me out snorkeling. I would hang on his back like a little sea monkey as he pointed out fish and coral. I have always loved snorkeling, which grew into my love for scuba and freediving.

WHO I ADMIRE:

My father and brother heavily influenced my interests in diving. My father was the first to take me snorkeling and we would go often while I was growing up. My older brother became a marine biologist and I have always looked up to him and learned so much in this field because of him.

WHEN I’M NOT FREEDIVING OR SCUBA DIVING:

My passion in life is for wildlife, including animals not found in water. I am usually hiking or traveling to experience as many wildlife adventures as I can. This past year, in search of exotic animals to photograph, I have visited Costa Rica (twice!), Peru, and Botswana.

MY FAVORITE CRESSI GEAR:

It is hard to pick, but I think my Gara 2000 HF fins are my favorite. They’re comfortable, effective, and rugged. I can wear them out on the reef or in the Everglades looking for alligators.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CRESSI OCEAN AMBASSADOR:

I wanted to be a Cressi Ambassador so I could work with the most renowned diving gear company and have amazing gear. I also hope to share my passion for aquatic wildlife!
